Birthday weekend

It's a cool, gray Saturday, which is a luxury for those of us awaiting the hot heavy hand of a humid Texas summer. That sort of weather is only a few days away, I'm guessing. It was a good morning of running around to garage sales, where I found a couple of old spoons for a craft project, and pretty scarves for artistic inspiration. I enjoy the colors and patterns. Might even wear a few of them! Then I took two linoleum prints to the post office and mailed them off. The check for them is supposedly already "in the mail!" The fact that I've spent the prospective income ten times over doesn't quite eliminate the good feeling that comes with Being Paid for Having Fun. In a perfect world, everyone would have a job suited to their desires and abilities, enjoy themselves all day, get paid for having fun.

Birthdays are a good time to take stock of the past, present, and future. I have my marching orders...I literally must Walk walk walk...get serious about exercise right now. Who knew Skinny and Sedentary was a bad way to be? Oops! Perhaps I should move my drafting table upstairs and get running up and down several times daily...we shall see. I have my tennies on now in case the urge to exercise hits...and I want to finish rocking a copper plate for a mezzotint...that's arm exercise, for my right arm. Good work for while watching tv though.
And now, to tidy up the studio so that when the next project is begun, I have some clean surfaces to work on! I certainly don't see any right now!
